Join the adventures of genius sorceress Lina Inverse as she travels the world in search of fame, money and lots of yummy food. With her handsome but not-always-bright companion, the skilled swordsman Gourry Gabriev, the two are an unstoppable duo. Monsters, bandits, even evil gods and demons can't stand in Lina's way. Slayers is a sword and sorcery anime that successfully merges a serious storyline with comedic hijinks. The anime spans three seasons of 26 episodes each, four movies and two OAV series. The main character is Lina Inverse, a powerful sorceress looking out for number one. As she travels, she meets other characters who join in her quests, such as the dashing but not so bright swordsman Gourry Gabriev, the mysterious chimera Zelgadis Graywords and Princess Amelia Wil Tesla Sailoon. Each season, Lina and her friends are caught in a conflict of catastrophic consequences. Often the fate of humanity and the world rests on her small shoulders. The worst possible scenario often occurs and it's up to Lina to find a way to beat the bad guys. Slayers will definitely appeal to the fantasy fans who are looking for an anime with an action packed storyline as well as hilarious comedy. The producers do it so that the comedy never comes in the way of the tension (most of the time). The resolutions to each storyline are satisfying and epic. "I want this, I want that; hey, that's just how girls are."
